The objectives

Scientific objectives:

  • find the specificity of Socio-Eco-Urban Systems in relevant disciplines (reflection : assessments and flows, time series, methodological approaches) ;
  • identify interactions between envelopes according their degree of complexity and go into deliberation on the means of quantifying or qualifying them;
  • identify ways to build common research subject, in networks, platforms, etc.. with local communities, governments, associations etc..

Strategic objectives:

  • develop a population of researchers and teacher-researchers aware of multidisciplinary research, able to propose innovative research projects, to conduct field activities, to develop their work in a multidisciplinary approach;
  • support the efforts carried out these last years to develop the multi-field actions within CNRS and of its partners, public scientific and technological Institus (EPST) and Universities;
  • support the activities of long-term observation of complex objects such as eco-socio-urban systems;
  • promote exchanges and collaborations between research teams working on the urban environment;
  • promote the development of tools or media to support multidisciplinarity on the urban systems such networks and the zones workshops for example;
  • promote exchanges and comparative research or not, with foreign colleagues, particularly European and American (LTER).
Audience:

Pre-necessary knowledge to take full advantage of the education provided by the school are the interest to the physical, chemical, biological, and / or environmental issues, environmental interaction with the urban system. The recommendations transmitted to the participants are to prepare a presentation of research projects emphasizing cross-disciplinary or multidisciplinary needs.
